Leading service providers and individuals in Malawi were awarded for service excellence at the Service Excellence Awards held on 16th November, 2016 at Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe.
It was all smiles for the country’s leading short term insurer, NICO General Insurance Company Ltd, when they were awarded with a Service Excellence Award in the category General Insurance Sector.
NICO General, Chief Executive Officer, Eric Chapola indicated that the award showcases the excellence of NICO General’s service delivery and congratulated management and staff of the firm for the remarkable achievement. He further urged the NICO General team to continue practicing professionalism in their work and ensure delivery of quality services and products to their customers.
The Service Excellence Awards are organised and managed by Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) which is a customer service professional board with presence in three continents and over 14 African countries. Similar awards are held in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, to mention but a few.
According to Rinos Mautsa, a customer service expert and CICM board member, the awards selection process is rigorous and it includes online voting through survey monkey involving 10 000 clients, as well as a questionnaire which is distributed in major towns across Malawi. Local experts comprising of academics, auditors and researchers will then sit down to adjudicate the research results before announcement of the winners.
