NICO General Insurance Company Limited are this year’s winners of the Insurance Institute of Lilongwe (IILL) quiz competition after beating. Prime Insurance Company Limited by 11 points to 9.
The finals of the competition were held at Lilongwe Golf Club last week.
Fielding a team of three each, NICO General proved to be the best prepared team as it answered most of the questions from quiz master Stephen Thomson of Express Insurance Brokers.
The questions ranged from the challenges insurance industry faces to how insurance can help the country grow. people can understandinsurance issues with ease.
Speaking after prize presentation, IILL president Dennis Mzokomera said they hold quiz competitions every year to increase collaboration among workers in the insurance sector and encourage a reading culture.
“We have been having this competition for over 10 years and we are happy with the impact it is having among players in the insurance sector,” he said.
Prime Insurance Company Limited chief executive officer Albert Mbawala, whose company sponsors the tournament, expressed happiness with the competition.
NICO General received MK100,000 while Prime Insurance got MK80,000.
Eight teams participated in the quiz competition.
