NICO General insurance Company has donated K1 million to the insurance Institute of Lilongwe as sponsorship for the Lilongwe insurance quiz competition expected to start this week.

The quiz is designed to promote professionalism among industry players.

Nico General’s Assistant Regional manager for the Centre, Chimwemwe kanyenda, said a vibrant insurance industry requires skilled, trained and knowledgeable employees who can understand broad aspects of risk in a dynamic business environment.

“When the institute approached us to partner them in this year’s quiz competition, we as a market leader in the provision of short term insurances, felt duty bound to take the leading role in complementing the efforts of the institute.

“We firmly believe that knowledge to be shared through the quiz is another way through which insurance practitioners could remain acquainted with the latest insurance trends as well as consumers’ demands and expectations,” Kanyenda said.

Insurance Institute of Lilongwe President, Mark Bulugama, lauded Nico General for the sponsorsip, stressing that it would go a long way in improving the performance of players in the industry.
